Product Details
Griffon WDF-05 is an extremely fast thixotropic solvent cement for pressure or drainage pipework in pools, spas, and other wet areas. It contains dissolved PVC resin, creating a welded joint that matches the pipe's own chemical resistance.
- Materials: Rigid PVC-U, PVC M, flexible PVC hose, ABS, Nylon
- Pipe Size: up to Ø 160 mm.
- Pressure: 16 bar for PVC; 5 bar for ABS.
- Clearance Tolerance: 0.8 mm (loose fit) / 0.2 mm (interference fit).
- Temperature Range: -40 °C +60 °C service; +95 °C peak.
- Colour: Transparent blue for easy visual inspection.
- Potable Water Certifications: WRAS, KIWA, Kitemark, ACS (EN 14680 / EN 14814).
- Open/Assembly Time: ~20s at 20 °C; initial handling strength within 4 min; full pressure after 10 min (20 °C, d50 mm).
- Integrated brush in cap for controlled application.
- Shelf Life: 24 months unopened (5?25 °C).
Installation (Summary)
- Saw square, chamfer & deburr ends.,
- Clean with Griffon Cleaner C-05 & lint free cloth.
- Apply WDF-05: thick coat to pipe , thin coat to socket (4-6 passes).
- Assembly immediately with 1/4-turn twist, hold 10 s.
- Wipe off excess; avoid mechanical load for 10 min.
Viscosity: ~675 mPa·s (thixotropic)
Density: 0.93 g cm-³
Flash-Point: < 21 °C (Class K1)
Coverage: ~ 100 joints × Ø50 mm per litre

Received the product Griffon WDF-05 on the said delivery date. The product worked well for both PVC and ABS materials, but from this experience it requires a good day to set when used to adhere ABS to PVC if the parts are to be used under high pressure.
Worked well on component joints especially when used to join metric sizes to imperial, plus used it to stick back a repair patch (above water line), on my above ground swimming pool with good success.
