SCH 40 Rigid Pipe PVC - Imperial
A Quick Lesson:
NPS (Nominal Pipe Size) SCH40 pipe is measured on the outer diameter to determine fitting sizes. The SCH rating relates to the wall thickness. The actual pipe size measurement is the bore (inner diameter). NPS SCH40 pipe is not the same size as conventional plumbing pipe!
Use a Vernier gauge to see what size you have and refer to the table below.
Pressure pipe that provides excellent chemical resistance to most solutions of acids, alkalis and salts and solvents that can be mixed with water. Rated to 145psi/10bar.
SCH40 PVC pipe and fittings are one of the most widely used materials for pipe installations especially within hot tub and swimming pool construction. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications and common place on hot tubs, whirlpool baths, spas and swimming pools. All fittings and pipework have smooth bores which aid in good flow characteristics and resistance to abrasion. PVC is light to handle and can be easily jointed with a simple set of tools, PVC solvent cement and accessories.
